Hey Guys -
I wanted to focus on that “THING” that lets you fill a room – The Swagger. If you want to step out from the crowd and get any one’s attention, then you best build what I like to call Your Swagger (the current “buzz” phrase is “Your Personal Brand”). In today’s vlog, I use a story of an acting buddy of mine to relate what I’m referring to.
I’ve also attached a couple of links from a recent Today’s Show episode, featuring Brand Expert Martin Lindstrom. Check ‘em out and let me know what you think. Also tell me what challenges your are having with getting noticed!

One last thought – In a blog from www.brandstrategyinsider.com, Al Ries writes – “Being first is worth nothing. Being first in the mind is worth everything. This is the essence of creating a brand.”

Read More... Live for the Moment
Just watched the new Mark Burnett/Jeff Probst show “Live for the Moment”. At first, I thought it was a little “cheesy”, but then soon realized that it was MY sense of cynicism that was not allowing me to enjoy the show for the true goodness that it protrayed. By the end of the show, I had also realized that the featured guest, Roger, was truly authentic in his assessment of his shortened life – “Live in and for the moment, because you NEVER know when it will be your last.” And why shouldn’t he be authentic. . . he’s dying. From my assessment, Roger doesn’t need or want anyone’s sympathy, he just wonders why he and everybody else hasn’t been “living for the moment” all along.
If you knew your days were numbered, what would you start doing differently in YOUR life? Start NOW! If you need a little “push”, check out this bit of inspiration – http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OLN2k0b3g70

Read More...Proof of an entertainer knowing who he is and what he stands for.
I never was a Conan O’Brien fan until the recent “downfall” of The Tonight Show. I have to say, from an fellow entertainer’s perspective, I am extremely impressed with how Conan handled the entire ordeal with tact and dignity. He didn’t let Hollywood strong-arm him and get THEIR way without a little strong-arming himself. He left on HIS terms (as best he could negotiate) and earned a new fan in the process. And whether you like his brand of humor or not, you gotta give him credit for taking a stand for what he believes.
If up and coming artist can learn anything from Conan’s misfortune, its this – know who you are and what you stand for and NEVER sell out, no matter how sweet an opportunity seems.
Kudos to you Conan! You offer hope and positivity to an industry built on cynicism.
Always look for the light in the darkness.
Until next time – Keep Your Swagger,
Chris
